Festivals

Visiting festivals is always an ideal way to explore a new country, have fun, and learn more about a culture—after all, who doesn’t like a party?  From the always popular Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain to the fairly well-hidden Krampus Festival in Berchtesgaden, festivals can be the sole purpose of a trip or a lucky find.

I have traveled specifically for festivals before (St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin, the San Miniato Truffle Festival), but it isn’t usually the main focus of my travels…but every time I do travel, I always check whatsonwhen and guidebooks just in case something’s going on that I don’t want to miss.

My friend and I hope to catch the Almond Blosson Festival in Tartoufe during our trip to Morocco in February, but we haven’t been able to nail down the exact dates yet—no one seems to know when it is!

If you want to try a “whacky” festival for your next trip, check out this list of “6 Wacky Wold Festivals” from BootsNAll including the always exciting Naked Festival and somewhat dangerous Baby-Jumping Festival.
