Update on 2009 Popular Vacation Spots

On January 4th, I wrote a blog post with links to some websites’ “Top Vacation Spots for 2009.”  I always enjoy seeing which destinations are “up-and-coming” especially if they’re nearby and possible destinations for me!

It was a popular post and I found another list from the New York Times I wanted to share: The 44 Places to Go in 2009.

I was surprised to see Beirut in the number one spot and “A Pennsylvania Farm” as one of the top destinations.  It’s a nice list, however, and I love that you can look at destinations based on interests like “Foodie,” “Frugal,” “Family,” and “Party.”

I’m pleased to say I’ve been to nine of those destinations and already have plans in place to visit two more this year (Marrakesh and Cologne).

Akirah–The Bahamas should be great in March! I’m off to Krakow, Poland tomorrow; it will be a nice vacation, but I doubt it will be warm!

Dania–Thanks for the info on Beirut! I can’t say I’ve ever really considered it as a vacation destination before, so I think I might have to add it to the list.
