Unique Accommodations: Fantasuites

Leave it to the United States to provide a truly unique hotel choice in the Fantasuites chain available in some parts of the Midwest.  For lack of a better word, it all seems a bit bizarre, but I certainly wouldn’t turn down a chance to stay in this unique accommodation.

Grecian Bath Fantasuite

Basically, each hotel offers several themed suites—themes range from “Jungle Safari” with trees and animals everywhere to the “Pearl Under the Sea” with intricate paintings made to like you’re underwater (with blacklight so some of the creatures glow in the dark) and a bed built like an oyster. Or maybe you’d prefer a room made to look like a medieval castle or a space odyssey?  Imaginations can run wild in this unique hotel choice.

Locations

Themes vary by hotel, so check each website first for available options but include:

  • Arabian Nights
  • Caesar’s Court
  • Casino Royale
  • Le Cave
  • Desert Nights
  • Eastern Winds
  • The Grecian
  • Jungle Safari
  • Log Cabin
  • Lover’s Leap
  • Northern Lights
  • Pink Cadillac
  • Sherwood Forest
  • Venetian Holiday
  • Wild Wild West

Almost all rooms are two-room suites with private whirlpools and king-size beds, but check each site first.

Rates

Rates vary again by hotel, but many of the hotels offer special internet deals, packages that include some welcome gifts and food, and special rates for military and AAA members.  (I personally find the rates fairly reasonable for the uniqueness of these suites—some are as low as $139.)

Some reservations can be made on-line, while others require a phone call.  Be flexible as you may not be able to get your first choice of theme.

Gift Idea

Gift Certificates are available for booking these suites—I think a night in one of these could be a great fun gift for any enthusiast you know!  How about a night in the Indy 500 room for your racing fan?  Or a night in Cinderella’s coach for your princess?

This is the fourth post in a series on Unique Accommodations.  Learn more about many unique hotel choices

@Sher–Thanks! It definitely has been a fun series to research (and dream about). I had looked into this one a couple of years ago as a gift for my parents who live in Wisconsin–there really are some fun choices.
