National Geographic Traveler and Photo District News are sponsoring a photo contest focused on “The Great Outdoors.” It’s a great opportunity to get some national recognition for your work.

It does cost to enter, which I’m not always a fan of for contests, but it is National Geographic. And not only will you get the recognition that goes along with National Geographic, but there several prizes being offered like a five-night vacation for two to the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya Hotel in Mexico, including breakfast daily, one dinner for two at Ambar restaurant, and two aromatherapy massage treatments.

Deadline: 4/20/2009 (Late? Pay $10 to extend your deadline to 5/4/09)

Entry Fees: Amateur $12, Professional $35
