Looking for a good book about travel to prepare for your next destination?
I think everyone should read a travel book before heading on a vacation as a form of travel preparation–and I don’t mean a guidebook. Reading a fictional novel or interesting nonfiction book with your upcoming destination as a background will help you approach your next trip from a different angle, possibly get some ideas of places to go, and explore the culture before stepping on a plane.
Even if you don’t have a specific destination in mind, reading these books can help you travel and have an adventure without leaving your living room. You might even want to create a travel book club with like-minded adventurous friends by using some of these tips! Enjoy some of the inspiring adventures in travel, food, and wine listed below.
Journeys and Adventures has created a collection of travel books filled with interesting stories with book reviews for various destinations to help you prepare, so stop by your local library (or click through the links to purchase easily on-line) and begin your journey!
It’s a continuously growing collection, so bookmark and check back often for updates! I will be adding a collection of movies shortly, too. Every Friday, a different travel book will be featured on Journeys and Adventures with more detailed info on the story, the author, and the destination.
